Flimflam ("we", "our", or "us") operates Juke, a macOS application for recording game highlights. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Summary: We collect minimal data necessary to operate the trial system and license validation. We do not sell your data, and your recordings never leave your device.

1. Information We Collect

Device Identifier (Trial System)

When you use the free trial, we generate a hashed identifier from your device's hardware UUID. This identifier is:

One-way hashed (SHA-256) so your actual hardware ID cannot be recovered
Used solely to track trial period usage
Stored on our servers with the trial start date

License Information

When you purchase a license, we collect:

Email address (for license delivery and support)
License key (to validate your purchase)

Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store or have access to your full credit card details. Please review Stripe's Privacy Policy.

What We Do NOT Collect

Your game recordings (these stay on your device)
Gameplay data or statistics
Screen content or personal files
Analytics or usage telemetry

2. How We Use Your Information

Device Identifier: To enforce the 7-day trial period per device
Email: To deliver your license key and provide customer support
License Key: To verify your purchase and activate the software

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your data under the following legal bases:

Contract: Processing necessary to provide the service you purchased (license validation)
Legitimate Interest: Trial enforcement to prevent abuse of the free trial system

4. Data Retention

Trial Data: Device identifiers and trial start dates are retained indefinitely to prevent trial reuse
License Data: Retained for the duration of your license and as required for tax/legal compliance

Juke is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
